Gloriosa superba अन्य नाम    अग्निशिखा, कलिहारी सुंदर पुष्प वाली लता का नाम अग्निशिखा है। इसका वैज्ञानिक नाम GLORIOSA SUPERBA है अन्य नाम कलिहारी, अग्निशिखा और लांगुली आदि नामों से जाना जाता है।  पहचान पत्ते : इसके पत्ते लंबे और संकीर्ण होते है और इसकी लता की ऊंचाई 2 से 3 मीटर तक होती हैं यह जंगल में स्वता ही पाई जाती है। पुष्प : इसके पुष्प बहुत ही सुंदर और आकर्षक होते है। जिसके कारण इसका उपयोग घर के गार्डन में, गमलों में सजावटी लता के रूप में किया जाता है। इसके पुष्प 3 रंगो के हो सकते हैं, अधिकतर पंखुड़ियां लहरदार नीचे की ओर पीले रंग की एवं ऊपर की ओर नारंगी और अंत में पूर्णतया: लाल रंग की हो जाती है। यह इसकी मुख्य पहचान है पुष्पन के समय इसके पुष्प दूर से ही बहुत सुंदर और आकर्षक दिखाई देते है।  बीज : इसकी फली तीन भाग में लंबवत बंटी हुई होती है जिसके अंदर रत्ती के समान लाल रंग के बीज निकलते है। इसके बीज से आसानी से पौधा उगाया जा सकता है। औषधीय उपयोग : इसका स्वाद कड़वा होता है। इसके कंद में एल्केलाइड्स, कोलचीसीन, सुपरबाइन, ग्लोरियोसिन, ग्लूकोसाइड, बेनजोईक एसिड पाए जा...
